We take meetings we know we won't be hired from. We answer calls from homeowners two years into the decision who haven't picked a remodeler. We walk homes with families on Saturdays knowing the budget doesn't match. We do this because Phase 01 Education is real — and because the right way to serve a homeowner doesn't depend on whether they end up signing.
Some of these homeowners came back. Some of them referred friends to us. Some of them just told us the conversation mattered.

"They met with us several times as we met with our architect to make sure we weren't getting outrageous with our design ideas… After the bids came back, the comps in the area had changed so much that it no longer made sense to move forward. Worth More Than the Work
"My wife and I bought our first home in Wheaton recently and wanted to touch up numerous parts of the house, mainly the first floor. Jeremy and a colleague from Icon Building Group came out to walk the house with us. They were upfront that for our scope, mainly some light finish upgrades throughout the space, a handyman type contractor made more sense — but they didn’t stop there. They showed us where to focus our time and our money, and helped with design and how to get the most out of the space for what we were willing to spend on it. That guidance was worth more than the work itself would’ve been. They had no reason to help us that much knowing they weren’t doing the job, and they did anyway. Can’t recommend them enough."

Charlie, who owns the company, worked with us every step of the way. With no commitment to move forward on the build, Icon treated us like we were already customers and spent a lot of time helping us figure out the best path forward. There was no limit to the questions we could ask, or the time Icon spent educating us, so we could make the best decision for our family. Ultimately, we decided to go a different direction, which Charlie and the team understood and supported. Without their guidance, who knows what kind of quagmire we might have gotten ourselves into.
