Testimonials · Remodeled + Served

"We got our 5-bed / 5-bath home in Long Grove completely remodeled with Icon — new electrical throughout, complete bathroom remodeling, painting, carpets and hardwood flooring. What initially seemed like a daunting task turned out to be a well-executed project… Charlie, who is the CEO, lives the customer-first philosophy, and it's evident across the employees as well."

"The project was to completely gut and re-build a 40-year-old house, which included re-purposing a useless garage into living space and building a new garage… He obtained all the necessary zoning and building permits, and went the extra mile in helping us obtain a needed variance… The end result is exactly what we envisioned."

"Our project manager kept the work on a schedule to accommodate a planned party. We really appreciated the entire team's attention to detail and use of quality materials. We have and will continue to recommend Icon."

"The project manager was very hands-on, checked the project daily, and was an excellent communicator… He kept the project on schedule and was a wonderful intermediary between us and the individual contractors. We lived in the house during the renovation and the construction zone was kept orderly."

"With an older home, we anticipated hiccups and additional costs, but the team at Icon handled and solved any difficulties they encountered along the way… Our kitchen was transformed from old, dark and dated to elegant, sophisticated and inviting."

"Our time frame was tight and our to-do list kept growing, but Icon was very accommodating and thorough in making sure things were done in time and to our satisfaction. We plan to use them for our larger remodeling projects."

"They met with us several times as we met with our architect to make sure we weren't getting outrageous with our design ideas… After the bids came back, the comps in the area had changed so much that it no longer made sense to move forward. The reason I love Jenny and Mike is that they were realistic with us — they didn't try to push us into an investment that didn't make sense. We never felt pressured. I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of remodeling."

"My wife and I bought our first home in Wheaton recently and wanted to touch up numerous parts of the house, mainly the first floor. Jeremy and a colleague from Icon Building Group came out to walk the house with us. They were upfront that for our scope, mainly some light finish upgrades throughout the space, a handyman type contractor made more sense — but they didn’t stop there. They showed us where to focus our time and our money, and helped with design and how to get the most out of the space for what we were willing to spend on it. That guidance was worth more than the work itself would’ve been. They had no reason to help us that much knowing they weren’t doing the job, and they did anyway. Can’t recommend them enough."

"My wife and I reached out to Icon Building Group for help understanding the costs and process associated with building a custom home. Charlie, who owns the company, worked with us every step of the way. With no commitment to move forward on the build, Icon treated us like we were already customers and spent a lot of time helping us figure out the best path forward. There was no limit to the questions we could ask, or the time Icon spent educating us, so we could make the best decision for our family. Ultimately, we decided to go a different direction, which Charlie and the team understood and supported. Without their guidance, who knows what kind of quagmire we might have gotten ourselves into. I could not recommend Icon and Charlie more."
